Where did you get each piece of your outfit?

Aileen: I got my shirt from Forever 21. I think it was about $15. My capris are from Old Navy, around $15. And my shoes, I got them from – I think – Oh! I got them at Ross for $25. My clip was a gift from my aunt.

Stephanie: My first outfit: My shorts, I got them at a Sears outlet for $4.99. My shirt at Forever 21. I think that was on clearance too. It was probably no more than $10. My shoes were like $12.99 from Old Navy. And my headband, that – Where did I get that? – I think I got it at Charlotte or Forever 21. I don’t really remember what it cost me. I wouldn’t pay 20-something for a headband.

Aileen: My second outfit: I got my dress at Factory 2 U. It was literally like $13. My shell necklace, my grandma got it at Hawaii; I don’t know how much it cost. My ring was also a gift. I get a lot of gifts.

Stephanie: This was my mom’s – the little vest. My skirt was from Forever 21 [Her shirt is also from Forever 21]. I bought two skirts. It was buy two and get one free, so I got this one for free. [My shoes] are from Old Navy and they were probably like $15 – they’re pretty old. My sunglasses – I got them from Etsy and they were probably $15. I got [my hat] at Forever 21, also. Um, my bag was my mom’s.

Aileen: Yeah, my bag was my mom’s too. It was also a gift.
Stephanie: Your grandma gave it to your mom –

Aileen: --gave to my mom for Mother’s Day. My mom loves big bags, and couldn’t fit anything in it, and so she gave it to me.

Stephanie: I love this print!  I was like, “That’s cool!”
**The hunter green luggage bag is Stephanie’s dad’s.

Individually, who do you gals aspire to dress like?

Stephanie: I still looko up to Mary-Kate and Ashley.

Aileen: I really like Audrey Hepburn, and I just like the nature look – the bohemian type of thing mixed with like classic. I don’t know. I like everything!

What are you gals trying to express through your style?

Aileen:
I guess it just expresses me. Well, I love old fashion and modern, or contemporary vintage, as I sometimes call it. I just like expressing my passion for music and writing. I always think of Jane Austen – even though they wore the long dresses – I would love to wear those dresses, but not right now; it’s too hot.

Stephanie: If I pick out my outfit for the next day I won’t wear it because I just feel totally different. I used to be able to do that. I guess I just started getting older and I didn’t really care what people were thinking. Like in high school the polos and Aeropostal – I used to wear that a lot! Like freshman-sophomore year, and then I started, I think it was during the time that my family, we couldn’t shop a lot because of financial stuff, that’s when I had to put more effort in what to wear – I used to be like, “No, I don’t want to wear that…” Like, that’s old ladies, but once I just stopped caring, I’m just gonna wear whatever I’m comfortable in.

If your personal style could sing, what would it be singing?

First outfit –

Aileen: Oh, my gosh! I don’t know. Something summery.

Stephanie: Yeah! I thought about “Here Comes the Sun” or something because the tennis shoes – it’s not a lot; it’s just shorts and a shirt.

Aileen: What’s that song called – I’m thinking of sunshine too. It’s not “You’re My Sunshine”!

Stephanie: Ain’t no sunshine…!

Aileen: It comes out in Easy A! “I Got A Pocket Full of Sunshine.”

Second outfit –

Stephanie: The Gost of A Saber’s Tooth Tiger’s Shroedinger’s Cat. I think I thought about that song because when I was picking out this outfit I was listening to that.

Aileen:  The Beach Boys.

Aileen, where do you usually shop?

Aileen: Oh, my gosh, Old Navy! Gap, Ross…I used  to shop at American Eagle, Hollister and all those places, but then I stopped because that wasn’t me anymore.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is your favorite latest trend and how do you make it your own?

Stephanie: Uh, trend…I love mixing these long skirts with the kind of sheer, and I like mixing the polka dots and the flowers. What other trend do I like – I don’t like to wear pants in the summer.

Aileen: Yeah, me neither. I really like the whole mint look that has come out. I have one shirt that’s minty. I like wearing it with shorts and an undershirt. I really love sandles. I love nailpolish. I like the crackle look. I really like Sally Hansen.

Stephanie: I also like the high waist shorts!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you guys go shopping together?

Stephanie: We haven’t in a while.

Aileen: When we get something we usually tell each other.

------------------------------------------------------------------

What’s one way Stephanie would describe Aileen’s style and vice versa?

Stephanie: Classy, yet modern!

Aileen: Retro meets bohemian meets classy!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Where would you wear your outfits?

Aileen: The beach, somewhere tropical. My first outfit I would wear on an outing with friends, something fresh.

Stephanie: I would wear it to like a concert. San Francisco at night. I’d probably change my shoes to boots. To Coachella!
