Steve Madden's line won me over when suede boots came out and each pair cost about 100 and department stores only carried them in black or purple...and sometimes brown. Of course, they became a big hit and the style was materialized for other branches... Anyway, my point, I don't mind advertising for Madden because like the Mad Hatter, sometimes we can become a bit mad and want to splurge -- except I just totally distorted what the Mad Hatter symbolized into who knows what, and plus, I was about 14 when Madden came out with the suede boots design, so technically, I was still on my mother's shopping list.
Now, what this blog is really about:
Last summer when I was out shopping for a messenger bag for my first year of college, I came across a Steve Madden Berkeley Messenger purse, and after a year's worth of tugging around and lugging around my textbooks and occasionally my laptop, it finally started tearing.
After searching endlessly for another much needed messenger bag, I came across something else...a pair of tortoise Steven Madden glasses. Oh, yeah baby. I found this pair at Ross for a mere $10. There was another pair for $6 by another designer, but the frame was much too small for my liking. My black, cat-like, Audrey Hepburn-like glasses actually broke because I threw them in my messenger bag and um, one of my textbooks killed them (those glasses were $15...and technically weren't designer, so I got a good deal with the Madden pair).
Thus, I suggest you take a trip to your nearest Ross, Marshall's or TJ Max for your next pair of PURRty glasses. Here's a funny story: Before I got my Madden pair, I was with my mom at Marshall's and we were trying on glasses, and I found the sweetest pair that fit my face structure quite nicely...but they were almost $90. Honestly, please don't be a fool and pay that much for a pair of glasses.
Oh! Before I go off and shower my dogs who have been out barking at shadows and getting dirtier by the minute in my backyard, I want to tell you about my new purse that is not designer-brand but will do for the school year: My Star Bag. I don't know what's called, but it has pink starts inside, and it reminds me of the magic bag from Barney, which I always wanted, of course. Every kid's dream is to get to stick his/her hand into a magic bag and pull out PAINT & GLITTER.
It was about $20 at Ross, as well, with taxes included.
