Gabee's January Favorites

Here's what I loved this past month :)

Nude Suede Flats With Cap Toe. These are a replacement to my Sam & Libby nude flats I wore to death. I actually think I like these a little better, and if you remember, I loved those other ones A LOT. -Charlotte Russe $9

Floral Peter Pan Collar Dress. I love collars; I love floral; I love this dress. I bought this after Christmas, and the pop of color on a winter day made me really happy. Now that the sun is back, this dress makes me even happier. -American Eagle Outfitters $15

Army Green Ripped Jeans. I really like how versatile these are. I can easily style them for a super girly look, an edgy one, or a really casual, laid back look. -Forever 21 Gift

Head Accessories. I had a whole post on these. They kept me warm and cute. -Beanie: H&M / Headband: $1 Jewelery Store (Seriously, I should know its actual name by now)

Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate Moss. This whole line is perfect-- they also come in matte! If I could, I'd buy every single shade, but for now, these three red shades will do. The one on my lips in this picture is 110, the others is 12.  -Drugstores $4.99

That is all for this month's favorites!
***Just a bit of an announcement: it's getting pretty difficult for me to post on Thursdays, so starting today I'll be posting on Fridays instead. And to work with my OCD, I'll also be posting on Mondays instead of Tuesdays. So, Mondays and Fridays it is!

Super Kitty!

Pretty wild how we can get inspiration from pretty much anything, right? Here, at Chatoyant, we get a lot of our fashion inspiration from music, and this outfit isn't much different.

Yesterday, I took it upon myself to create a safe, nesting place, aka case, for my iPod because most manufacturers seem to think people only own iPod Touch-es nowadays, but I digress.

I made a case that turned out to look like a mixture of a cat and a penguin-- you should know that I also love penguins, so this was okay.

With cute cat stuff still on my mind, I decided to wear my new, red wine, kitty shorts from Forever 21 today. They were a Christmas gift, but I'm pretty sure they were $17.99 (more on how I know this later).

They kitty print on them is a nude, slightly brown color, so I kept the entire outfit within the same color palette-- my current nail polish even inadvertently matched.

My sweater, also a Christmas present, is from Kohl's. It  has a very subtle high-low cut which I thought looked well because I wore the shorts at my waist.

The front of the sweater has golden splotches which reminded me of another Christmas present from Forever 21: these gold heart, pointed toe flats.

To finish off the look/add warmth/add some edge, I went with a black pleather riding jacket I've had for a few years. I really like the buttons and details of this one.

Lastly, I'd like to leave you all with a picture of me creepily holding my cat!

I was reading through my "About Me", and I had promised to share more of this guy on here but never actually have (but you can see plenty of him on my Instagram! @GabeeStoppable).

I've also updated my little blurb there, so if you're interested in finding out a bit about yours truly, feel free to give that a read!

Turban Headband and Flowers

Hi all,
I've been eyeing turban headbands for quite some time but was always hesitant about how one would look on  me or what people would think-- I get tons of annoying stares by solely rocking a bright lipstick.
Recently, I've been feeling a lot bolder when it comes to fashion, so I went ahead and bought one.
I purchased this specific creamy one at Ross for $4.99, but I've also seen them at Rue 21, Papaya, and a few other stores.
I opted for this color because I figured it would be easier to style although now I feel like that's not particularly true. Not because the color was hard to work with, but because mix and matching with the other available colors would have actually been a lot of fun.
Regardless, the piece itself is really cute, and while it did draw quite a bit of attention, I like it. I might even buy another in a different color.
I paired the piece with a sweater of a similar color from Guess and a denim jacket-- both gifts-- on top and went for loose, floral shorts from Forever 21 to balance out the warmth of the outfit. You can't see from the pictures, but I am wearing my blue oxfords, and lastly, my lipstick is Eucalyptus by NYX.
That's going to be it from me for today, but I'll be posting every Tuesday and Thursday (with the exception of Thanksgiving Thursday) from now on, so stay tuned for that.

As always, thank you for reading!

Gabee

Campus Style: Lights

She may not be Lights, but the style emulation is pretty dead on-- from the hair to the boots.
I've known Genesis, student at Arizona State University, for quite some time and her style has always challenged the norm. The girl definitely has some cool edginess to her super sweet personality.
We caught her out on a casual night and she was kind enough to let us keep her from her friends for an impromptu shoot.

Jacket: Tilly's $30
Top: Forever 21 $4
Belt: Forever 21 $4
Pants: Forever 21 $20
Shoes: Ross $20
Nose ring: Mall stand $8

Dear Pink, I Need a Break...

Available here for $19.80
For as long as I can remember, pink has been my favorite color. Sure there was that phase where I wanted nothing more than to wear my purple sneakers, but I still came home to a pink room.

This was only meant to be a quick outfit of the day post, but yesterday in class (don't fret, I was finished with an exam early, which I passed with a 100 percent; that's right, I'm a PowerPoint expert) I discovered something as I looked through Forever 21's "Uptown Girl" looks. I'm over pink.

Normally, if an item comes in pink, I choose it over the other colors. Then I saw this top, and I found myself leaning towards the minty blue one--in a perfect world, I'd get both-- and realized I've been wearing and buying a lot of blue lately.

So pink, looks like this might be it... just for a while. It's not you. You're still super cute and pretty flattering on me,  I just need to try something new. Yes, there's someone else. It's blue.

These are a few of my favorite blue things at the moment:
Shoes: Cathy's at Arizona Mill's Mall $15
Blue mini skirt: Ross $8
Ombre high-low skirt: gift
Sweater: Ross $9.99
Necklace: Old Navy $1.99
L'oreal nail polish in Now You Sea Me: Target $4.99
Love & Beauty blue glitter polish: Forever 21 $1.99 or $2.99

And this is how I wore the ombre skirt:

Cat tank top: Ross $6.99
Denim vest: DIY
Cheetah (or leopard?) loafers: Ross $12
