Favorite e.l.f Products

In the past few months, I've become obsessed with makeup products which can get pretty pricey, but luckily for any makeup wearer on a budget, there's e.l.f. "Top Premium Cosmetic & Makeup for Less" is what they describe themselves as, and for the most part, they're pretty dead on. For those of you not familiar with the brand, e.l.f (eyes, lips, face) sells makeup, makeup tools, and other cosmetic products for super cheap-- anywhere from $1 to maybe $5 tops-- at most drugstores (I buy mine at Target). Although most of the makeup and tools I've purchased from the line are amazing, the whole "you get what you pay for" still applies on some products, so I thought I'd share with you all what is worth more than the few bucks they're sold for.

Lipstick $1:
My lipstick collection has grown tremendously in the last month or so with some products priced at more than $10 (yes, I know, it's bad), yet this one is still one of my favorites. I used to have a couple of different shades, but now I'm down to just one in a light pink called "seductive". The color pay-off is wonderful without having to often. It's also really hydrating which is something you usually have to compromise with cheap lipstick.

Makeup Mist & Set $3:
I'd been wanting to try a setting spray for a while because my oily skin doesn't like holding makeup very well, but I didn't know where to start. While reading a review for a foundation, I saw someone mention they used this little guy, which I had no idea existed, so I went out and bought it thinking I'd eventually upgrade to something better. As of now, I have no intention of switching to a different brand. This one does the job just fine. I was afraid that it'd make my face sticky, or clog my pores and cause me to break out, but that's not the case at all. If you do choose to go out and try it for yourself, do know it has a distinct odor going on, but it doesn't stay on your skin.

Clarifying Pressed Powder $1:
Like I said, I have pretty oily skin, so I'm always looking for a powder that will help control and conceal that. I've tried some that are made specifically for oily and acne-prone skin at a much higher price, and this one gets the job done just as well. While it's not my go-to product, it's still one of my favorites mostly because of its size. Also, a little goes a long way this one as it's pretty pigmented.

Gabee's January Favorites

Here's what I loved this past month :)

Nude Suede Flats With Cap Toe. These are a replacement to my Sam & Libby nude flats I wore to death. I actually think I like these a little better, and if you remember, I loved those other ones A LOT. -Charlotte Russe $9

Floral Peter Pan Collar Dress. I love collars; I love floral; I love this dress. I bought this after Christmas, and the pop of color on a winter day made me really happy. Now that the sun is back, this dress makes me even happier. -American Eagle Outfitters $15

Army Green Ripped Jeans. I really like how versatile these are. I can easily style them for a super girly look, an edgy one, or a really casual, laid back look. -Forever 21 Gift

Head Accessories. I had a whole post on these. They kept me warm and cute. -Beanie: H&M / Headband: $1 Jewelery Store (Seriously, I should know its actual name by now)

Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate Moss. This whole line is perfect-- they also come in matte! If I could, I'd buy every single shade, but for now, these three red shades will do. The one on my lips in this picture is 110, the others is 12.  -Drugstores $4.99

That is all for this month's favorites!
***Just a bit of an announcement: it's getting pretty difficult for me to post on Thursdays, so starting today I'll be posting on Fridays instead. And to work with my OCD, I'll also be posting on Mondays instead of Tuesdays. So, Mondays and Fridays it is!

Gabee's November Favorites

Another month down and one more to go until the new year!

Miscellaneous:
This month I set myself a few goals; one of them was to wear more jewelery. I convinced myself that the reason I never wore any of the necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. I already own was because of the way they were stored (all tossed and jumbled in a drawer in my dresser), so I went out and bought myself a jewlery tree!

I picked this one up at my local Ross, where they still have a pretty wide variety, for $6.99. I chose this one in particular because of the cute little blue birds-- they are actually meant to hold earrings in a very eerie and creepy manner-- and white base that match the colors of my room and furniture.

I have been wearing more jewelery since I bought it so mission accomplished!

Next, I have more lip products this month to rave about. I'd been on the prowl for an orange lip stick that had a good amount of color pay-off and lasted long. At last, I found two I am content with: Revlon's Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti and Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous. These both go on pretty much as the same color with the only difference being that the lip butter has more shimmer and gloss to it, so I found it hard to pick just one (in fact, I carry both with me). I did find that the balm stain lasts slightly longer, though.

Fashion:
According to my mother, my new goal in life is to be Taylor Swift. She may or may not be right, but wearing this sweater definitely makes me feel Taylor Swift-esque.
This is from the Vera Wang Princess collection at Kohl's. I picked it up for my younger sister's birthday party earlier this month for $23 and have had a hard time not wearing it every day.
I have a thing for striped sweaters, but I think my favorite part of this piece is in the smaller details like the mesh bottom and sequined shoulders-- the back bow is also adorable.
It's hard to see in the pictures, but it's actually a metallic gold color which is perfect for the holiday season.

I've been loving the new skulls trend as of lately and finally jumped on the bandwagon a couple of weeks ago and bought this sheer blouse.

I think what I love most about this trend is how versatile it is. The pattern can be styled with some obvious edge or in a much more subdued manner-- I think the trick is in the color palette you choose.

That is it for my November favorites. If you like what you see, make sure to give it a "like" and share, and as always, you can find us Cats over on Facebook (Facebook.com/ChatoyantDiary) and Twitter (@ChatoyantDiary)

Happy December,

June Favorites

Contrary to popular belief, not all girls love shoes. I am one of those girls, so I rarely buy, or wear unless I absolutely have to, new shoes unless I absolutely love them.
I'd been eyeing this pair for months, but because I'm not big on buying shoes, I overlooked them and their price until they went on sale for $10.
I then looked into other Sam & Libby shoes and found the same style in a nude color that I am convinced is a perfect every day shoe, but that is besides the point.
I then realized I didn't own anything that matched the shoes which interfered with my shopping rules, but I could not pass up the glittery pair. I grabbed this top for $11...
I actually really like this blouse because despite it being a very neutral color overall, it has accents in a few different brighter colors that make it a lot of fun. Thus, I paired it with this bright blue skirt. I added another pop of color with what may be my favorite lipstick of all time: Maybelline's ColorSensational in Coral Crush. I haven't tried any other colors in the line, but this one stays on bright for hours.

Another one of my favorite things this month is this turquoise cat ring I bought at the little accessory shop near my house for $2. Cats + Turquoise = A happy Gabee.
Also, this is the dress/shirt I talked about last month!

Hope you all had a great June and have an even lovelier July! And feel free to share some of your favorites of this past month!

May Favorites

I was inspired by some of my favorite YouTuber's to do a favorites post. This means that at the end of each month, or start of a new one, I'll be posting my favorite buys or things I've rediscovered.
I think I will try to keep the items fashion oriented, but I might throw in some cosmetic/beauty products from time to time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My first and only clothing purchase this month is lace top from Burlington Coat Factory for $3.98.
Although I think it's meant to be a shirt, it's actually really large so I didn't buy it for that purpose. I haven't worn it yet, but I plan on wearing as a dress over a plain dress-- or a shirt, of course.
I found it while browsing the clearance rack after awkwardly running away from the crowded shoe section and the baby section, and I got plenty of looks as I walked around with it. May not seem like much, but I see great potential.

The next two were gifts from Lynda and Sarah, respectively.

I've talked about this nail polish, Wet N Wild's Wild Shine in Sparked,  before here, and I absolutely love it! I've worn it all my nails on top of a nude base, as an accent nail on a minty blue base, and on a couple nails as an accent on a neon pink base. It has also been on my toes for weeks. It sells for less than a dollar and is pretty longlasting.

This one was a belated birthday gift. I have also been wearing this one pretty often. I like that it's big but not bulky, and the leaves are just a perfect staple for the summer. I especially like wearing it with collared shirts. *These pictures were taken with Instagram.
